Processor type will make different with what kind of task you ask from your laptop. Because the higher the number of the processor the faster it works. And this is very useful when you do graphic and multimedia works, and not to mention this kind of work will consume more energy. Of course it will be redundant when you your laptop task is just only browsing and e-mail work. Again this is only efficient and effective consideration from me. OK let’s start what are options in processor criteria.
First - Low Voltage
Designed and engineered for longer battery life but not the fastest performance
Second – Economy
The single core is good enough for web surfing, e-mail, and word processing. This kind of processor doesn’t work as well as dual processor in multitasking.
Third – Mainstream
The dual processor works smoothly in multitasking. Take equal between energy efficiency and performance.
Fourth – High Performance
This kind of processor is processing in fastest performance for gaming or any other application like graphic and multimedia.

You need more portability (size and weight) than features and performance.

- 10-inch screen, the weight is 3 pounds or less (basic task, checking e-mail, browsing while travelling, not for productivity machine).
- 11-inch screen, 3 pounds or less, more to portability than features and performance
- 12-inch screen, 3-4 pounds, considering the light weight for daily routine laptop.
You seek both portability (size and weight) and performance
- 13-inch screen, 4-5 pounds weight, reasonable size of screen to do multitasking work and still affordable to use when travelling regularly

You choose best performance and most features regardless portability (size and weight)
- 17-inch screen, 6 pounds or more, fully loaded features and fast processing, but excessive weight and less battery life.
