This is another step with more complete things according to kind of stuff you have inside your laptop. A little bit explanation I found in a forum.
1. Choose your wireless equipment
The first step is to make sure that you have the equipment you need. As you’re looking for products in stores or on the Internet, you might notice that you can choose equipment that supports three different wireless networking technologies: 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g. Here is what you need to make these tips work well
Broadband Internet connection
Wireless router
A computer with built-in wireless networking support or a wireless network adapter
A wireless router

Beside of data processing, internet browsing or gaming and programming what else do you think you need next? There are many additional laptop features that offer by the industries in the market. Please consider every option below:
Blu Ray drive – the latest technology of High-definition optical drive. Some are backed by Sony and others. This Blu Ray drive let you play movies at higher resolution than standard DVDs.

Processor type will make different with what kind of task you ask from your laptop. Because the higher the number of the processor the faster it works. And this is very useful when you do graphic and multimedia works, and not to mention this kind of work will consume more energy. Of course it will be redundant when you your laptop task is just only browsing and e-mail work. Again this is only efficient and effective consideration from me. OK let’s start what are options in processor criteria.
First - Low Voltage
Designed and engineered for longer battery life but not the fastest performance
Second – Economy
The single core is good enough for web surfing, e-mail, and word processing. This kind of processor doesn’t work as well as dual processor in multitasking.
Third – Mainstream
The dual processor works smoothly in multitasking. Take equal between energy efficiency and performance.
Fourth – High Performance
This kind of processor is processing in fastest performance for gaming or any other application like graphic and multimedia.
Next option is Memory Capacity
